Welcome to my very own WordPress site – Kyra’s Weblog! Before you explore, I’d like to introduce and inform you about my Weblog. As a result of the subject Information Communication and Technology and the Classroom, each of us has been given the chance to create a unique WordPress account. Upon exploring and customising my own weblog, I can definitely see why blogging is such a hit online - for all ages!
There have been quite a few updates to this Weblog, particularly in relation to the use of ICT in the classroom. During the first lecture, (lecturer in charge) Des asked the following question:
“What do you see as technology challenges for the future?”
For me personally, the main challenge will be keeping up with the fast paced nature of all things related to technology! The rate at which technology is being developed (new hardware and software) leaves no room for a teacher in this world to be lagging behind. Having said that, technology is quite accessible these days, and it can be so exciting, that you may not even realise the amount of skills you possess! It is for this reason I wish to share with you some of my personal experiences using technology in and out of the classroom. I think it’s great to see schools promoting technology and integrating it into all Key Learning Areas of the curriculum. Check out the KLS Bloggers site – yes, schools are in on WordPress too!!!
